Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever. They are cute, med sized and smart. Bred to toll the shores of the lakes and flush out ducks in Canada. A breed I would be interested in if I wanted to downsize... Not there yet ;)
I knew you would know something about this breed. Had never heard of it till he was showing us pics of his. He did say they are a super expensive breed. Sure is a pretty good looking boy.

Pat,

Have ya thought 'bout dropping in at Walgreens/CVS/etc. and Ginny try their cheap reading glasses. Given dat her vision may change again, it may $ave ya sum bu¢k$ until her sight stablilizes.
Yep she has those but it is mainly her vision at about 15' is what she is having problems with. The other thing just like that guy yesterday 114 chemo treatments, he has lung cancer also but if he wants to keep alive he has to just keep taking them. He looked almost to the point of giving up yesterday.

Actual cost depends on who you know , but even a good Terv can cost $1,500 or more to the "average Joe". Heck, I think English Bulldogs are around $5,000. Doodle mutts can cost $2,000! Designer dog? Na, a mutt (nothing wrong with mutts, just to charge people that is outrageous in my mind).

Oh and for you dog lovers that nurse has a breed of dog called a Duck Troller really pretty.

Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever. They are cute, med sized and smart. Bred to toll the shores of the lakes and flush out ducks in Canada. A breed I would be interested in if I wanted to downsize... Not there yet ;)

Had to look up that breed, never heard of it before. Looks like an adorable dog, nice size too. The history is pretty interesting.

Exactly what I was thinking, but sounds like her problem is distance. Guess they don't make the cheapy glasses for distance?

Well I have a special treat for you this is Tyler the nurses dog. I just call him The Streak. He has one speed fast, he flies around the Chemo Room on his stool with his cart full of stuff. He said this dog is really something. He said this guy is so smart it just amazes them all the time. @clnire

Well day 3 is over. This is the one she dreads the most. She's taking a nap really wears her out. We had to turn her O2 up to 3 litres for a while. The sun and Chemo is not a good match. So now 18 days break except for a CT on the 15th and see if this is helping.

That's at our lake at the bottom of the hill where we live. The old name was Lake Spokane but now they call it Long Lake. He lives about 8 miles from us. The lake is like a big bathtub with a dam at Nine Mile and one at the other end 40 miles a way. So they raise it and lower it at certain times of the year. It's actually just Spokane River with 2 dams making the lake. The lake extends up past where we live, it's about a mile from our house.

It's really kinda cool they lower it way down in around April or May cause if goes out really shallow to the original river bed like 2' to 3' deep. So they lower it way down by opening the bottom dam and closing the top so everyone can clean up any debris in front of their places, then raise it up to max closing the bottom and opening the top to a specific level so everyones boats have enough water then again in the fall they lower it then raise it once more and lower it and use it to control runoff. Once it's full in the summer they open both dams about the same so the water is constantly moving very slowly. They have actually gotten it much cleaner then it was when we first moved here. It was really polluted from the Silver Mines in Idaho dumping all their crap into the river. I still wouldn't eat a fish out of it but a lot do. It's a big water skiing lake and fishing mainly Bass, some rainbows. Two rivers have a confluence about 5 miles up from our place The Spokane and the Little Spokane. The Little Spokane is really clean but the furthest you can fish is about 1/2 mile from the confluence on the Little Spokane and they get some decent fish up there. Lots of people inner tube it for miles then get out at the confluence, kayaking, canoe no power allowed on that river, once they join up anything goes.

So theres everything I know in a nutshell Mike.

Oh also I forgot to mention our Gdaughter and Son got their orders and He has to report to JBLM (Joint Base Lewis McChord) on Sept 30th which is about 275 miles away, so they have been actively looking at houses in that area. And also found out that her PA she works with at the Cancer Center lives about 1/4 mile from us, just down around the corner. Very handy if needed, plus one of her favorite nurses from the chemo room lives just a short way and goes by our house every night going home and has said if needed he could stop by on his way home. Can't get much better then that.
Awesome!

I used to use magnifiers over my regular glasses for quilting. I had trifocals but there was an area at the exact distance that I held my quilting hoop that I couldn't see. My Opthamologist suggested it because I could see other than that. It worked great.

At a lake while the sun was shining?

The Philly's tonight ... not so much.
You mean The Phillies.

This question I am asking for a friend. If someone has a drivers licence that expired on his birthday 2 days ago, and he studiously gathered up all the required documentation to get the new "smart" license which will meet new requirements for official Federal ID, and then he goes to DMV, and they tell him he can't renew yet because the current license says it expires on Aug 1 2019, do you think my friend will be able to pass the vision test when he goes to renew his NC license a year from now?

On a completely different subject, thanks for all the birthday well wishes, y'all!

Yeah that is what she uses for her needlepoint. She is having real problems reading stuff on the tv though which is a 60" about 12' from her. Seems like her vision gets worse with each treatment. That's why I've been doing all the driving. That irks her to no end, worst backseat driver ever.

I'm pretty sure that he has a place on the lake, there are several, really there is no public access except the boat launch and state park about 5 miles back towards Spokane from us. He lives in Tum Tum lotsa places on the lake there.

We have a place on the lake for the homeowners here, it costs $150 a year for access. We don't go down there much but it has a picnic area and a place to keep your boats. Many of the people in our area have ski boats but they take them to the public launch in the State Park. It's a huge state park but it is mostly closed because of fire danger. Every summer for quite a few years now.
