(kicking myself) For forgetting about Becket!

They are soooo cute! Such handsome little boys!

Oh no problem. He's a lovable, funny little guy. He's now walking around mumbling different word sounds. Took me a bit, but I finally realized he was trying to repeat words I said to him as well as other unrecognizable words of his own. I'm pretty sure he called me Nana yesterday! I can't wait to be able to have conversations with him. Miles and I are starting to have conversations and I just find it thrilling. Hux still isn't talking, but I think he's starting to get the idea that maybe using words could be helpful. All 3 kids are so different. And by Jan 4 we'll be adding another grandson!

OK.........happy to try to help. I never know how I'm going to feel after dialysis but I will answer as promptly as possible. :)
No problem it may be a while till I get around to it too. I've been in a bad place in my head lately. I still haven't sent the stuff I told people I would send. I just can't get motivated to do anything anymore. The neighbor came over yesterday crying and her dog of many years died that morning. Ginny is not doing very well after this last treatment. Seems like each time it get a little worse, she is 6 days out now, but she is getting an extra week off this time but as soon as we get back, the next day she has a treatment.

    I've al$o found $um awe$ome Amazon $ecret code$ HERE (daily)!

Our eldest daughter is just starting her journey down da UC pathway. Will know more when she meets with the USF medical team. Thankfully, she spent ten days at the Vanderbilt Univ Medical Center which hooked her up with USF. The local 'doctors' here were a total loss, if not a medical hindrance!
Glad you're getting a better GI for your daughter, makes a big difference. Bad doctor stories on the UC forum I go to sometimes. Still, it's a lot of hit and miss to try to find out which drugs work best. Sometimes there is also spontaneous remission also.

I scared the dickens out of my neighbor the other evening. I had been working in my yard. Well, work a little then take a break. I had finished and had a nice glass of ice water. I was sitting in the shade, a nice breeze was blowing and I was reading a good book. A really exciting book (heavy sarcasm) A Guide to Backyard Astronomy. The next thing I heard was my name being called. I looked over and my neighbor was standing on the sidewalk with this nervous look on his face and that changed to relief. Sitting in my chair with the book I had dozed off. He said he and his wife walked out and looked over and didn't know what I was doing or what was happening. I have to admit it is nice knowing my neighbors care.

You can only do so much. It is a really big help to the patient if the companion/care giver is upbeat. Even in the face of possible disaster you have to maintain. You can't go around with a droopy face and a sad demeanor because that only emphasizes to her that her condition may not be the best. If I did not have happiness around me I'm pretty sure I would not have the courage or desire to go to treatments 3 days a week. Kidney disease is the final frontier in any persons life which is why it is called End Stage Renal Disease. Ginny always has the possibility of remission or even a total cure. You just never know. Every day you wake up and see her there in the house or even in the hospital-that day is a gift.

I agree with everything you said. Do you have a chance for a transplant? I don't let Ginny see the side of me that is worried sick about this. She is very hopeful and she doesn't read the stuff on the computer I do about Stage 4 SCLC. I would love nothing more then her to be one of the 2% that lives for 5 years. I've talked to people on the CSN on the American Cancer Societies webpage. I don't know what to expect with her symptoms, I don't know how a person starts really going down with this disease. Mostly on that forum it is caregivers not too many actual survivors, most have either gotten so bad or they have passed. There are a few that have NSCLC which seems to be a little more survivable. I have so many things rattling around in my brain. Since we moved here we have never really made any good friends, ones that you can be honest with. We had a couple but they either crapped on us of passed away. So we just made a decision we didn't need anyone else except family and each other. We have done everything together from going shopping to being at each others doctors appoinments. All of my family has never been close and all the Uncles and Aunts have died. We have our Gdaughter and I have 2 daughters of which we are fairly close to one. But only my Gdaughter knows what lurks in my P brain. She has a lot of Brothers and Sisters but her side of the family are a strange bunch. The girls are all pretty close but the guys have all gone their own ways except for 1 Brother and 1 Sister who she is really close. Her husband calls them the C Sisters because they both have Stage 4 Cancer. They talk to each other and cry on each others shoulders. And we have 1 good friend who lives 175 miles away. They talk a lot but Ginny hates to call her cause she can't get her off the phone, and she has never been friends with others either, a lot like us it was her and her husband who always wanted to live in the woods. Well they did that. He bought a house in an area Called Mountlake Terrace. He bought it in the early 60s on a VA loan. He didn't pay over $15K for it and they sold it for around 200k and bought their piece of property in the wood 5 miles from one of the passes that goes over the Cascade Mt.

I'm sorry you guys. I didn't mean to get off on a tangent like this I will PM you @lulu836.

Question for Amazon Dot users: what happens if you connect more than one, but they're only about 20 feet away from each other? Separate rooms, but still, I think that Alexa 1 would hear what I'm saying to Alexa 2. What I want to do is have each one control a different TV. Anybody know if that will work?

Bells if you go to the Alexa website,on AMazon I'm sure I saw that covered, the exact same question. I think it's in the FAQ.

Very cool, Legs. Thanks! I especially like this part:
Alexa is now smart enough that if two or more of them happen to hear the wake word, only one device will answer you. Your Echos now have the technology to not only hear your voice and the direction it’s coming from, but also to gauge how far away you are from your various Echos. Using that information, Alexa determines which Echo you’re closest to and uses just that device, shutting off the other Echo units that also heard your voice.

No need to apologize. Tangent away. I do wish we lived closer.

Sounds like bats, to me. Echo location...

Good to know they don't sit around talking about you, huh?

But maybe they do, just at a higher frequency than we can hear? (Echo 2 to Echo 1, he's in this room, go ahead and order the store...)

Political controversy rears its ugly head VERY rapidly here, when any politician is spoken of. In more recent years, I try very hard to avoid such controversy. I made no such efforts when I initially frequented this group.

I hope that the following comments are not regarded as political, and there is no need for anyone to ask "why would anyone regard them as political?", because IMHO, that simply politicizes things. If anyone determines that my comments are political, I will delete this post rather than be defensive.

    1. I'm watching every second of the services for John McCain, currently and over the past few days. I am quite moved.
    2. McCain's mother, Roberta, is 106. Her attendance and countenance at the current DC services are amazing things on their own.

    Good afternoon!

    @Iffy prayers for your daughter!!
@2legsshrt continuing good thoughts for Ginny and for you to keep your strength.

Yes! I'm allergic to the adhesive on bandaides & things that adhere to skin. Not only allergic, but things stick too well. Getting them off is hard. I end up with sores from bandaging a sore!

Oh, those adhesives are horrific for me...terribly allergic!! I use cotton tape for everything now.

Aren't they just so adorable when they start having conversations with their cute little 'accents'. Love them so much!!

@Iffy and @r77r7r my friend who has UC also told me that she drinks kefir pretty much daily and it seems to have helped with symptoms.
My friend who uses nic and wine for her Parkinson's also makes her own kefir from cultures. It's quite delicious!

My husband had his implant procedure yesterday, and is doing well, thank God!!! We are a very grateful family today!!

Plus if you register your voice if there happened to be more then one person using it when you get your flash briefing or whatever it will use your name and give you your personalized news.
