Wow this season on Call the Midwife they are trying to figure out what is causing all the deformities in the babies. It hasn't struck them yet that the women who had the deformed babies were smokers all through there pregnancy even in the delivery room and the doctor and his wife are smoking while they are trying to figure it out.
If there are sick babies involved it's a no go for me. I hate watching sad or smarmy, no horror things either. Blood & guts I can handle!

Agreed. I tried no nic just to see what it was like. The flavor was drastically different. It was nasty. That, above all, is the reason I have no intention of going to no nic juice.

With the price of nic nowadays, no question flavorings are the most costly ingredient. Maybe not a couple of years ago before all the specials started. But, now? Certainly.

Times certainly have changed. Doctors used to treat medical records like state secrets. They had the attitude that patients were too dumb to understand them correctly. But, I always thought they just wanted to cover their behinds in case of malpractice.

Now it's as it should be. Medical records belong to the patient.

After my heart surgery, I was told to not eat canned foods because they all have too much salt. I never have added salt to my food. But, no canned foods? Not even simple, plain canned vegetables?

I stuck to that for a few months. That'll have to do.
If you pour off the liquid & rinse them off then it cuts the salt a lot.

Is a bit of mrs dash, and the flavors are fantastic! Much better than microwave or boiled. I think because the spices get steamed into the food.

This is really good theres not sick babies but this season is really interesting. They're just discovering what is causing all the lung problems but it's about a lot more. No horror things just real life in the early 60's in England before they knew about a lot of things.

Don't think itz possible to get any canned food without salt and sugar.
The thing about that is this summer Ginny canned about 50 qt. of string beans the ones we brought home she put 1 teaspoon of salt in and the ones for her mother she put 1/2 and the difference is like night and day. The ones with less are ok but the ones with the normal amount she uses are delicious. They taste better but that's probably not anywhere near what they put in a can of string beans and they taste like crap compared to homemade.

I buy canned vegetables with no salt added at my local grocery. Margaret Holmes is a brand that has low salt canned greens of all kinds, My Essentials is another, and Food Lion brand has no salt added peas and no salt added corn. I don't ever use any salt in my own cooking. After about 10 years of watching my salt intake, many conventional preparations taste way too salty for me. Ritz crackers, though, is one thing that I think the low salt version is terrible. I buy the regular ones, and when I've got 'em, they don't last long.

This can of My Essentials no salt added corn has 10 mg of sodium per half cup. The can says that is 1% of the DV, but the DV is actually 2400 mg, so 10 mg is less than half of one percent.

Hey you all....

been busy busy busy doing stuff n things for days now...but today i'm resting. Been diggin in the dirt, cleaning out n rearranging my shed, bringing garden decor from the front to the side yard and visa versa, laid down some weed cover/ put 2x4 boards on it to hold it down, leveled the ground in front of the shed, laid out six 2x4's on the ground in front of the door, cleaned out the flower pots and stored em...but what did me in was yesterday when i went to a superstore and spent a WHOLE HOUR walking and pushing a cart! I was so tickled that I didn't have to use an Amigo cart!

The moral of this story is that all the physical stuff I'd done the past week didn't hurt much at all...the hour's worth of walking proved to me that one of the best exercises is still simple walking! I'm not in pain, per se, just feeling it in my legs!

Gracie...I'm going for a walk tomorrow and I'm gonna shoot for this exercise on a regular basis! ( No wonder you and your hubby are so spry!)
Cooler weather is coming. No excuse not to walk. I want to be spry too! (After I catch my breath from reading your post, that is!)
What's actually more entertaining is a motion sensing impulse sprinkler. We used to have one to keep the chickens out of gardens, but when the cats accidentally tripped it they left the area in a hurry.
Hilarious! Nice to see you around!
Just popping in briefly to say, Honeys I'm home!!
Welcome home, honey! Tell me all about your day.
Thanks everyone! Mom is doing much better. She's never had any heart problems, out of nowhere she's in congestive heart failure. She's eating again and getting a little strength back. She is 86, so I know there will be health issues, I'm just not ready for them! It's been a tough summer with medical stuff. Told hubby & SIL that they are not allowed to get sick!
My grandmother started getting short of breath as she approached 100. She had emphysema. No history of it. The doctor said that she was just old and her body was wearing out.
My Mom has developed that also, h has been living with it for years. Had an Uncle pass a year ago from it, but he lived alone & didn't follow Dr instructions. My mothers youngest sister is in the hospital right now. Cancer, congestive heart failure, alzhiemer's, & sepsis. Dr says she will probably pass any minute.
I am so sorry! Makes my problems seem so trivial in comparison.
You should try one of these.
