Kenmore was made by Wirlpool which was owned by Sears. Craftsman was made by Snap-on. No more, who knows who make Sears stuff?!?

Summertime, summertime, sum, sum, summertime. I can't wait for summertime!

Regular Kenmore appliances are made pretty much by the lowest bidder now (slight exaggeration). Only the Kenmore Elite brand is "supposed" to be still of a high quality. Same with Craftsman tools... Shoot for the price difference you are better off buying Lowes Kobalt brand which comes with an excellent warranty and Lowes backs it up... Plus it is a lot cheaper in price and better in most cases in quality...

I actually buy 90% of my hand tools from Harbor Freight. Lifetime guarantee and no hassle exchange on most of them. Their wrenches and sockets sets are as good as anyone's for about a third the price or less.

Summertime, summertime, sum, sum, summertime. I can't wait for summertime!

We buy a lot from them also - pretty much all the tools that I have sent to the Philippines came from Harbor Freight...

Dunno, semi. Don't have much in the way of craftsman. Had a few returned years ago with no problem but I heard you need the receipt now.

I am one of them that still have some Craftsman tools from over 20 years ago - have not bought a new one in quite a few years. They used to be top quality unless you could afford Snap on tools... If you need a receipt now, which I totally believe - it is their way of cutting off the old geesers that have been using their tools for decades...

If you are interested in saving all of your PMs (both sent and received) on your computer in the most easily readable format, click on "Private Messages" near the top of any ECF page. Then, near the bottom of the resultant page, click "Download all private messages as: Text", then save on your computer. Takes 10 seconds. The document will display all of your sent PMs from oldest to newest, followed by all of your received PMs from oldest to newest.

Thank you!! That worked quite well. The new software is supposed to move all our pm's over to it, but they'll all be lumped in one place. Not separated into folders. Mine aren't in folders anyhow, but I did dl them like you just said just in case they don't transfer.

I love One Note also, and use it for just about everything now........thing is, I'm trying to find out how to d/l text to it.

Ok, just dl'd this too, all my pm's went into Note pad which I hate.

Update on Mike. Yep, he got whatever I had yesterday. Don't know if this is something going around or we just got the prize. So glad it only lasts 24 hours. I was totally miserable for 24 hours and then poof! All better. This morning Mike is upright and holding down fluid so I'd expect him to be normal in another hour or 2. So, if you wondered why he didn't post yesterday... I sure hope nobody else gets it, but at least it's a quick one.

So glad it was quick for you.....hope Mike's goes away just as quick. and hope no one else gets it.

I'm hungry also.

It's Monday and I don't mean to brag, but it's been almost five hours and I'm still doing good on my diet.

I love that little laughing girl with the pigtails. I can still wear the same sized earrings I wore in high school. :D

happy laughin table smackin emoti.gif hehehe me too!! I love that lil gigglin girl too.

They are not known for good manners. It is not unusual for them to tell someone they are fat, need to lose weight and then laugh about it! Do you mind if I ask the age of your friend? I have been thinking of getting certified to teach ESL.

I have a dear friend, like a sister, who is Japanese, we met in HS when she was an exchange student for the year, we still keep in touch, and she taught ESL in the corporate world for many years.

And dey make awesome rice!

Maybe some time I'll relate da BESTEST rice I've ever savored... and yes, in da Philippines!

Please do, hope they didn't serve it with a dirty napkin hehehe

Ladies and Gentlemen, it's time for Hula with the Has Beens on ABC!

I exchanged a cracked socket in 2013 with no problems - has it changed since then???
Sockets no, ratchets yes. You will never get anything more than a rebuild kit unless the head casing or handle are broken

Summertime, summertime, sum, sum, summertime. I can't wait for summertime!

I'm looking forward to the "new" ecf. Let's face it. It will either be wonderful or be a pain in the you-know-what. I'll figure it out cause I need this place a lot more than ecf needs me.

Janet & Mike, so glad y'all are feeling better. Nothing worse to have but given the choice. . . a 24 hour one is the 2nd best option.

Have a great afternoon.

Well..... I'm better, but Mike is not. Looks like he's got the 48 hour kind. He's a sick pup. Couldn't even keep sips of water down. I ran out for some Pedialyte and Ginger Ale and spoke to the pharmacist. All she had OTC was children's Dramamine that you chew. So, Mike gave that a try and it seems to be helping. Still hasn't had much to drink except sips of Pedialyte, but maybe he's on the upside. This sickness is really nasty.

If my recollection is correct, Sears actually manufactured their own appliances back in the day. And that would have been our last top loading washer that I repaired until I could no longer get parts for it. Got a good 20 years out of that washer.

Now they outsource everything and manufacture nothing. Including the "Kenmore" most expensive dehumidifier we got - that broke down within 5 months, was repaired under warranty, broke down again one month out of warranty - and ended up on a recall list as a fire hazard - three years later.

At the time of the second failure within 13 months I raised hell with Sears, citing that the thing was obviously a $250.00 lemon, and expecting their former "we stand by our appliances" response. What I got was "Don't care,. Pound salt. You should buy another Kenmore dehumidifier to replace it."

And that was the last appliance we ever bought from Sears.

They lost out on a kitchen remodel, two bathroom remodels, a 'fridge and dishwasher replacement, a front loading washer, two room air conditioners and a freezer. About $5,000.00 worth of business went elsewhere, all over their crappy attitude regarding a crappy $250.00 dehumidifier that was so bad it ended up on a recall list.

Poor customer service will get me out the door, never to return, faster than anything. I get it that individual salespeople can be having a bad day and dealing with the public can be very frustrating, but cranky sales people I can deal with, bad management I won't.

No more packaged yeller rice for moi! Mixed up some homemade last night with jasmine rice and soft chorizo; lip smackin' gooood.

Prep jasime rice with:
-water 50%
-chicken stock 50%
-sesame oil (just a lil')
-tumeric
-cumin
-smoked paprika

Saute in butter:
-onions
-minced garlic
-roasted red peppers
-carrots, medium dice

Then add 'skinned' chorizos (three small links per cup of uncooked rice), break up lumps/chunks and saute till done (do not drain). Dump mixture into cooked rice and mix well.

Am very happy with da yeller rice. Now how 'bout some happy rice...

Iffy, the first thing I thought of was a ...... commercial!! Maybe you shouldn't show them at church! It's really cute though, did you do it yourself?

Janet:

I agree, Janet. Some years ago before she married. our daughter applied for a English teaching job in Japan. Most of the applicants were twenty-something and she was in her thirties. She was not selected and was rather disappointed. Not long after, that terrible tsunami hit Japan and I read that an American teacher was killed there. I kept thinking what a blessing it was that she wasn't there. Sometimes hearing "no" is a good thing.

There you go! See, there was a reason she wasn't supposed to have that job. While Mike was working people were getting laid off left and right. Among some who were very upset there were others who discovered that it was the best thing that ever happened to them because there were opportunities they didn't know where out there for them. And look at the people who didn't show up for work at the World Trade Center on 9/11. It's hard to make sense of sometimes, but it is what it is.

MY EYES! MY EYES! QUICK, GET ME SOME BLEACH!!

Is anybody beside me watching Dancing with the Stars? Just watched Riker Lynch (Captain Jack Sparrow) and Allison dance. Phenomenal.

Summertime, summertime, sum, sum, summertime. I can't wait for summertime!

I missed the first hour, but tuned in in time to see Riker play Jack Sparrow. It was fantastic! Really enjoyed what I did get to see tonight.
