I've been having a good birdwatching day. I'm definitely right next to, if not in, a major migration flyway. The latest visitors are orioles - Baltimore and Orchard, and Rose Breasted Grosbeaks. Combined with the Goldfinches and House Finches that hang around all year, it's been very colorful out there.

I'm still trying to come up with some way to mount a camera outside that I could have some sort of a remote shutter on. Taking pictures through an old double pane window just doesn't do them justice. These are all from the last hour:

And the reason the feeder is kitty whompus:

Nice! We get plenty of birds (and squirrels) just not that much variety. The can be expensive - but hunters use 'trail cameras'. Just mount it outside and if something moves in front of it - it takes a picture.

Well, maybe not ALL the tube type meat........:D

(Sorry 'bout dat, but I allow myself one juvenile snicker a day and it was just too tempting...)

My preferences: sauerkraut, pickle relish, chopped onions and mustard on a hot dog. Sauerkraut virtually unheard of here in NC but I grew up in the greater NY metro area where any hot dog vendor had sauerkraut available.

No ketchup or chili on a hot dog but ketchup is fine on any non-tubular beef or pork. When I was a kid we seldom had steak. When we did have steak it was an inexpensive cut and usually pretty tough. Still, Dad's rule was: you couldn't put ketchup on it until you had eaten at least one bite of it without ketchup.

No ketchup on eggs. Sriracha, however, is not only acceptable but pretty darn good.

Barbecue sauce and ketchup: not enough difference between them to squabble over. Basically tomatoes, vinegar and sugar in both of 'em; not much else in either.

Eastern NC BBQ sauce: a different animal, made with peppers instead of tomatoes. You don't have to try it but if you knock it without trying it you're not qualified to judge it.

I've looked at those, but since they are motion activated, and there is motion there pretty much constantly....

and Johnny has still said nothing .. yet ..

Sure wish I had my Grandmommie's ol' wash board! I used to could have played my ab (singular), but now it's more like a wash tub (bass drum?)...

this could be a remake of "O Brother, Where Art Thou?" ..

OK, somehow I've never watched dat!

I like mustard in my grits... Adds a bit of spicy to them. My aunt would not let me do it at her table - Nope. Not even a little.

Dat's worse dan my bride using brown sugar...

Another ketchup fan here, although I gotta go with Iffy on the ribs, but I am one of those people that put ketchup on my hot dog, which, according to hubby, borders on sacrilege....

.. but don't put it on top as a sauce.

Ketchup, contrary to some isms, is NOT a food group!

... this applies to brats

I only like brown or spicy mustards. Yellow mustard is da product of Satan's spawn! As fer Dejon, if I want wine, I'll pillage Willie's fridge fer sum box classics...

I've been having a good birdwatching day.

I guess so! Awesome pheathered gathering!!!

Sure hope summer heads your way soon; both days!

Soggy Bottom Boys"

Well darn, y'all know I like to sing in the shower. Maybe a Soggy Bottom Girl? bahahahaha

I like mustard in my grits...

I have not tried that one (yet) but you won't find this hard to believe. . . I put just a little sugah in my grits.

Gotta have some K in meatloaf as well, but don't put it on top as a sauce.

Pretty good if you add mustard, honey and Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ sauce on top. Or it could just be the bacon I like. Not sure which one.

I've been having a good birdwatching day.

Great pics and I'm glad you had a good bird watching day. In a couple I thought the bird looked like it had a cigarette in its beak. I have misplaced my binoculars but I have got to find them before my son moves out.

It is raining, but I will not complain because of all the people that wish they had some. Just makes it difficult for me to tell where I am hurting the worst. Baby Ruth, (my dog) hurt a baby bunny real bad this afternoon and I had to put it out of its misery. I know I did the right thing (and the only thing) but it still just tears me up. Been in a "snit" all afternoon.

Went to Chic-fil-A tonight. Can you believe my almost 82 year old daddy has never eaten there? I only wanted to go because I heard they had peach milkshakes. I swear to you, my Fuzzy-T ejuice has a better peach flavor. major Grrrr, to go a long with my snit.

I remember telling people last summer than allergies did not bother me now that I was vaping. Well, can't say that this year. I have never had my eyes bother me as bad and if my nose runs in more, I'm going to have to tie a bucket around my neck. But then. . . what will I do with my feedbag?
haha.gif

Y'all have a great evening. . .

Watching the finals of Dancing with the Stars. I have to say that tonight in particular it has been great. Much better than you would have expected even for the finals. It's going to be hard to vote for just one of the finalists. I really wish they all three could win.

I'm trying to figure out how to do a multi reply on here but I can't. Talking about food to a southern cook, you're gonna get some replies..

First, BBQ sauce. Love Tony Roma's original, but that NC sauce can't be beat. It has a vinegar base instead of a ketchup base. There's a little place down the street from our cabin south of Canton, NC that is out of this world delicious, but they won't tell me their secret.

Sugar on grits. No, NO, NO! Salt pepper and butter. Don't adulterate my grits.

Cheese on grits. I made some the other day, and it scorched on the bottom of the pan. That lightly scorched cheesy grits was so good, but ------
is still soaking-- I ought to give it another try.
I can have the cheese, anything savory really, but don't go sweet on me. I don't like sweet and savory mixed. Don't like pineapple on pizza, or honey on ham either.

Just stir grated cheese into the grits after they are cooked. It will melt.

I am watching it with my wife while I work on my paper for next week. I will be leaving this room when it goes off - Bachelorette is next...
Neither one of us can stomach that show or the Bachelor either. In my opinion any relationship that starts like that deserves everything that comes after. I really don't care for "reality" TV. To me it's about as far from reality as you can get as well as normally being incredibly stupid as well as exploitive.
