Mike, Do you still have your templates. I have both the engineering (electronic symbols) and architectural (toilets and tubs, etc.). Used to have a full size drawing board but it literally was too big to pay to move to Key West when I went back into the Navy. Now I have a small one that will prop up on the kitchen table with an attached sliding straight edge that rides the wires on the sides.
Don't you dare! And if you do decide to please give me first dibs on purchasing it. Mine wasn't quite that ornate but was about 50 years old. My father bought it to work at home when he got his first draftsman job in New York City right before WW2. Hell guess it would be a lot older now. I gave it to my brother Steve in 1980.I got a bunch of templates and French curves and stuff someplace. I have an antique wooden drafting table in the basement. It's got to be 75-100 years old. It's a neat piece. The wheels to loosen it and adjust hight and tilt of the table are cast and look like miniature ships wheels. Janet's hinted a number of times over the years I should get rid of it. But I just can't even though I know I should.
I know I have half a dozen of the mechanical pencils and leads for them.

I have an eraser bag too. You use it to provide something for your instruments to ride on so as to prevent the drawing from getting dirty. Instruments (triangles and such) pick up a lot of dirt from the pencil lines and such.Yepper, have a small collection of ol' mech pencils and some lead from waaay back. Used to luv da soft lead in 'em <graphically speakin' of course... ummm... let me rephrase dat... argh, never mind...>
How soon gum erasers are forgotten...![]()
BTW, I traded a lil' ol' ragged transistor radio for a small drafting set (JC Pennys) back in USAF tech school. Still got dat also. It has as many miles as I do!

Would love too. You taking over the payments?Hey Matt - maybe we can make a deal ... I'll trade you my drafting table for your RV.![]()
My father was credited with inventing driven piling/floating slab construction. They use it to build multi-story buildings when there isn't adequate underpinning soil. That giant hotel in Abu Daubi uses it.My Dad designed his own house. Just a modest modified cape cod ... but I found his drawings one day and that kind of inspired me to be a draftsman/architect. I was good at drafting but realized I'd never make it as a architect, just didn't have the 'design/inpiration' gene in my dna makeup. So I gave up on that idea. I wouldn't be surprised if he used that table to do his drawings and plans for the house.
Couldn't use dad's for a dining table. It was designed to be either used with a stool or stood behind.Sweet! My brother was given a couple of those from an old college. Makes an interesting dining table!
One , heck I've got a whole set of them but, I think about half of them have dried ink (Pelican India Ink) in them and I am not at all sure I could clean them even if I wanted to. My father on the other hand could have gotten them spotless in less than a day. Of course they don't sell carbon tetrachloride to the general public any longer.
Ok - I'm on a roll ... how about these ... yep ... I've got a couple of these in my desk drawer.

Well we finally made it over here. It's 65 degees what a diff. Thought we were going to get in a head on on a 2 lane highway. Guy kept coming and coming at us we moved over and then realized he had 5 Sheriffs on his tail. Still getting rested up but might try my Ti tomorrow.
I'll say it again, hope you have a great time. Are you going to be able to hangout or are we going to have to wait until you get home to see your ugly mug?Well we finally made it over here.
