Going back a few posts to joining nr to r wire. I have found a way that works great for me. I use 30 gauge nichrome or kanthal..doesn't matter...and 30 gauge silver nr. what I do is overlap the two wires like im going to twist it. but instead..i wrap the nr around just twice. Next...take a disposable lighter and heat the r wire until its glowing and slowly move flame back and forth until silver wire melts at the joint and that's it. Its like welding the wires together. Very small joint and very strong. I have tugged on the wires as hard as I can and either the silver or the r wire breaks somewhere other than the joint. Extremely stable ohms...even after dry burning. I hope to have some pics or vid up soon to show how I do it cause I think you guys will actually love it..simple and effective.

Damn...all I have is nickel.

I got what I think is about a .7-.8ohm coil on my new V2 with Ekowool. This is one powerful vape! But one of these days I'm gonna grow some brains and actually measure out the length of the resistance wire section... I wasn't planning on making that low an ohm. I misjudged and ended up with only 2 wraps of 30g... and that was with the joints right snug to the wick. You guys should of seen the way that coil glowed white hot when I tested it. I can't believe I didn't pop it. I need one of those state-of-the-art business card measuring implements like you use, dw... or was that upsetter??? :)

Who's using Nextel (xc116?) in their Term? Any good? Loving the Eko, but I'd like to try the other stuff.

Hey guys,
Been following this thread for a couple weeks now and have read from the beginning since then. Tons of great info here! I've used your tips when I picked up my first Cody and now my term v1 and v2. As I type this I'm vapin on my term v2 set up with ecowool on my mkb and I'm in vapor heaven :vapor:
Stormies only had 1mm ecowool in stock when I placed my order so my v2 has the coil wrapped around three pieces of wick. I could only run two wicks down the metal channel but got three stuffed into the ceramic side. My v1 has two 1mm ecowool wicks running down each channel and a extra piece in the coil for three at the top. Really diggin the ecowool wicks. My coils are 1.8 and 1.7 ohm out of 32ga kathal wire which gives about 3-4 wraps around the wicks. I'm looking forward to trying out some 30ga thats coming in this week.

Here's a couple questions I have for ya fellows:

On the Cody anyone know where I could source o rings that would fit between the tank cap and mouth piece cap? Now that I have a couple terms my gf is using my cody's and loves em.

Also in a review on the cody on DV someone mentioned a clear tank they picked up for super cheap like $3. Any idea what tank that might be?

I'm not sure if I'm showing off or not but here is the results of twisting up quite a few of 'em

32 gauge nickel and 32 gauge NiChrome

Dw those are some sweet junctions. They look a lil different from the splices I've seen on YouTube would you feel like making a instructional vid to show how you twist those?

I put together a wire welder but after 20 tries and only one usable coil I gave up and just went back to twisting.

Also, and sorry to bomb you with all these questions at once, but where can you pick up a ggts base? Only site I've found that had them was cov and they're out of stock

Thanks guys

I do my splices like Scott Bonner (Igetcha69) shows in his Oddy review, I just get more precise about it.
Start at 10 min, I don't recommend to ground the negative wire under to ring as Scott does although some folks are and it's not causing them any problems

From one of my posts a few pages back:
Hemostats, a magnifier light and micro flush cutters make me able to get them as pictured pretty easily.
I make the first twist while holding with my fingers and after straightening it out I hold the spot where the NR loops back with the hemos and wrap the NR tightly around the splice 6 times and the clip off the excess from the unwrapped splice.

Ive enjoyed reading all of this thread, started before the arrival of my Term c v2 and because of that it was second nature to do the build when I got it, first build went well with cotton twine, except the flavour was weak, second with silica was closer to what Im looking for , still room to improve and try new things , lots of fun ,

193 pages !

Thought it was time to have a look away from geny's ... well not completely just a side view... at what is happening here.

So XC 116 bought and delivered last week. Terminator C acquired and NR wire from Stormy at Vapestock yesterday, managed to forget about ekowool completely.

Had a local to me vaper kindly set it up as I have yet to play with NR/Resistance wire set ups at the dinner table with a .9 ohm dual coil which I am thinking will last me till I have caught up with the 193 pages, assimilated them and coming back with questions !

Nice, pretty much the same technique I've been using. Ill have to pull out the magnifying lens for my third hand next coil I make and try a lil harder lol

Ahhhh sweet thank you man. And just to clarify to use that base you need to swap out the "collector" tank on the mkb with a gg collector tank correct?

No, I can only say that if the MKB has the floating (adjusts way out if the tubes are cranked down as there is a newer model with a fixed looking center pin) then in the GGTS base will screw right on just as it would on the GG mod, contrary to what some suppliers were stating.

I have a Ithaka base and it's basic feeder, it can be used on a Term to make GGTS base, it's on pre-order and all ready paid otherwise I would have bought three Oddy GGTS bases from the Greek re-seller. $26 plus shipping for the two Ithaka pieces, it was $36( to make one base) and for the Oddy ones shipped it was $36 from Greece and took about 12 days.

Oh man sooooo glad you linked that post dw! I totally prefer Paypal for online purchases to using credit cards. I've been having a pretty lousy weekend as I realized fri night my bank card has a fraudulent charge on it. I been contemplating putting up a thread to ask why all the Ecig site only take credit cards. Will be ordering a couple of those bases for sure.
