I knew when I read this it was trouble. I don't own one as of now but are they that much better than a reo mod, ihybrid or some of the more costly ones? Doesn't it boil down to what a person likes or not? I believe that even the cheap ones are over priced. To me they are a battery holder and its what sits on top that gives you the best experience in vaping.

Just as i suspected. Predictable ? Oh yeah !. I knew it. I knew this is what would happen if i posted this. No one that owns one would admit it's just another mod and not worth anymore than any other. Oh and comments about me not being able to afford one even though you don't even know if i can or not. And if i pay less, even if it is only say £50 less, would be considered "cheap". £75 is not cheap. £150+ is expensive. Lets get it right. So i just get insulted. As i said. Predictable.

Have you held a provari, vaped on one?? I don't own one either but I have used one, and I do own a LT, they are not even in the same ball park. Until you have used one (did not say own) you don't know what you are talking about, and btw it is against ECF policy to flame a member or a supplier.

You can get one or not get one that is your choice, but before making statements about something, know what you are talking about.

I can, will, and did just that (though I disagree and feel it IS worth the additional cost). They both work, completely agree with you there. The difference comes in quality of build, materials used, ruggedness, customer service. A plastic candy tube held together with epoxy and a cheap piezo can do VV just fine too, and costs substantially less than just about any manufactured mod out there! Any of these other devices are perfectly suitable and will produce a vapour the same (it's just electricity moving through a coil after all). I have doubts they can literally be thrown to the ground, stomped on, and still continue to function. Yep, that's extreme, and regardless of device people don't go looking for it to happen; but some things are out of our control and accidents happen. My gripe with the cheaper ones was purely from a manufacturing stand point, I had issues with quality that I simply couldn't overlook any more.

I don't own a Provari but I would buy one in a heartbeat if I could afford one. They have withstood time because of their durability. They have rave reviews, build quality and safety features you won't find in a Lavatube. There is no comparison between the 2. The Lavatube is a cheap disposable entry level mod. I have a Lavatube and it works fine but it will not last as long as a Provari because it's made of plastic for one reason. I wouldn't buy a Provari just for the features alone. I can get those with a Vmax or Zmax.

I think the features of the ProVari wouldn't be much better than any other VV but maybe the quality of the materials and solid build are a selling point? plus the all the rave over the customer service? I've never tried one but I think you're trying to instigate arguments over something that doesn't affect you really.. If you don't wanna buy it, then don't buy it :p. The same goes for $3000 3d TVs and a $60,000 Mercedes Benz.. It's still a 4 door car with the same features as that new Honda... But people still want it

i think the OP's original post is searching for validation on his current decision not to buy one. if he were 100% sure he absolutely didnt want one, this thread would not exist. its a backward way of determining why the provari costs so much (when in reality, its not much more, considering the quality you get).

the provari costs more becasue its worth it. plain and simple. i scored a chrome one for $140, from ProVape (in the clearance section). thats not much more than what a different, lesser quality PV would have cost me. once you factor in the possiblity that other PVs will become trash, its an easy decision to make.

I might be wrong here, its been known to happen a time or two, but posting for the sole purpose of eliciting a negative reaction is the textbook definition of trolling and against forum rules.

Have a Merry Christmas.

Thank you zapped. I couldn't figure out how to say this without causing more aggression.

Well . . . I own 5 beautiful Provari's, as well as a number of other VV/VW devices.

The other devices all work and I'm satisfied with them, but the vape I get off my Provari's
knocks everything else I've tried into touch . . . horses for courses, until you've tried one
or anything for that matter, you can't really slate it. IMO. :)

I find it hard to bash something you've not even tried. I try to read other's reviews and be as subjective as I can about suggestions and opinions.
I had to bust my .... and do a lot of things my wife and Dr's are still mad about for me to be able to come up with the money to buy a Provari. I assure you, it was no easy thing for me to come up with this much free money!
I also have a Lava tube, as soon as I got it I knew it wouldn't last long in my world! The chrome was flaking off on the way home, the thread connections are loose as a goose and every time I dropped it I would cringe knowing that would be the last time it worked! The battery threads are loose and I fear just the spring pressure alone will strip them out. It's built like junk, plain and simple! Does it vape any different than the Provari? Not really, but there's no way it would have lasted in my world more than a few months.
Around 2009 I bought a BB from Altsmoke, I forget now how much it cost then, but it was a chunk to come up with! People didn't get the price for that then either, but it still works! I actually used it when I would be working in the yard and garage before I got the Provari because I knew the Lava tube wouldn't hold up to the abuse.
I bought the Provari because it will take the abuse I will give it. The build quality and materials are excellent, as a machinist for 13yrs I'm a pretty good judge on these things. I don't fear dropping it, the connection is tight, the battery cap doesn't feel like it's ready to pop out, there is no comparison between the two!
It doesn't make everything wonderful and peachy, it doesn't make my juice taste better, but it works, and I know it will keep working! Is it for everybody, nope! But I don't want an IHybrid or a Zenisis either, but I see why some do. I don't say they are stupid or crazy for spending that kind of money on them. Different strokes for different folks. If you don't want one, don't think you need one, fine, enjoy what you have or want. But this works for me, I had my reasons for making that choice and I'm glad I did. So please don't call it a scamor a ripoff until you have a better understanding of the reasons people made the choices they did.

Well obviously a Yugo is as good as a Rolls Royce so why pay more for the Rolls?

You have to love it when someone states they have never owned or used a device then states an opinion on it's quality. TANSTAAFL, if you want good quality you pay for it. The saying "you get what you pay for" is as true in this industry as it is in many others. Of course there are exceptions but I don't think the ProVari is one of them.

No one said the provari wasn't a good piece of hardware. The fundemental point( <<<<<< GET THAT "FUNDEMENTAL") is that it is over priced. You can't get one if you don't pay the vendor what their asking for it. And prices do vary. Starting from £140 upwards. So if this device was say £90 or even £100 then that would be a realistic price that reflects it's quality. Look at a pair of £200 nike trainers(sneakers) you know for a fact they are not worth half that but people still buy them. It's the same thing with "provape". They are making a name for themselves. Never again will this company let their products go for what their worth because these things have become "fashionable" now. People don't mind over paying for fashion do they. Provape will soon be selling expensive polo shirts and fitted caps with their logo on. Please don't tell me you don't know what i mean. I mean would you buy a jacket for £500 pound just because it has a ferrari label on it.

Well, after I stopped laughing at the original post I kept reading some of the follow ups. Here's one that I particularly like:
I think the features of the ProVari wouldn't be much better than any other VV but maybe the quality of the materials and solid build are a selling point? plus the all the rave over the customer service? I've never tried one but I think you're trying to instigate arguments over something that doesn't affect you really.. If you don't wanna buy it, then don't buy it :p. The same goes for $3000 3d TVs and a $60,000 Mercedes Benz.. It's still a 4 door car with the same features as that new Honda... But people still want it
...because the features of the ProVari really don't distinguish it from some of the other PVs, but the quality certainly does.

I don't think that I'd spend $3,000 on a TV at this stage in my life, and I can't afford a $60,000 car. But the $160 or so that I spent on my ProVari is a luxury that I can afford and is probably the most solid purchase that I've made among all of my vaping purchases.

Is has been said that opinions are like ....

For someone who says they have never tried one you seem to come on quite strong.

Unsolicited opinions from those who have no experience are supposed to be revered? Really?

Please share with us why we should subscribe to your opinion?

This would not be the first time someone with an agenda went after a product without basis.

Actually it's quite predictable. You aren't the first.

hmmmm the provari ... yes it is quality and i have considered it but i cannot get passed the menu system ... to be honest the lavatube is just easier to me ... same reason i did not go for the zmax ... yep i got the vamo and it is easy to use ... so that is why i will not buy a provari unless they simplify their menu system ... will probably skip the evic and mid for the same reason -- i like simple

I tried a Provari at a local B&M they have for sampling juices, and honestly it was on
par with my Lambo performance wise, BUT when you wrap your fingers around that
thing you know it's a rock solid unit, built to last.

Keep in mind I had it in my hands for maybe 5 minutes, but from the feel it's like going from a Daisy BB gun to a Mossberg.

And you solidified my point! I paid $40 for my Lava tube, I got what I paid for! The Evic was another one I was interested in, in the reviews it certainly hasn't lived up to what it was supposed to be so far, a week out and they are revising the firmware already? That's in the $100 range. The Vamo and Siegel seem to be holding up, as well as the Zmax. But buy the time you get a Zmax in SS you are pushing $150 with shipping, so another $20 for something made better is stupid? Yes, I have looked at a LOT of mods! The Evic shutting off at 95 deg F killed it for me, it's hotter than that most summer days here, it wouldn't work for me! The Zmax SS was next on my list, but for the $20 I'll buy something tried and true, I also wanted something the same size as my BB, the mini fit that bill. There's no option for that with the Zmax!
Really, look around at mods, price out some SS pieces, even the mechanical mods, I honestly don't think you have priced many to come to this conclusion so easily.
