Unless you put something like this on your KF 3.1 then it just burns the wick off in the middle of the coil.

I pulse and pinch to get rid of the hot spots. That usually oxidizes them a lil bit.
Two quick strums on the coil with the end of the screw driver gets rid of all the squeezing and multiple pulsing.

Pulse once, strum across the coil, pulse a second time and if required the next strum will make the coil ready to go. I have not squeezed a coil in a long time.

How do you like the ErlK Linda? I always wanted to pick up a cheap one to try out.

I really like them. They give a very flavorful vape. But they are kind of fussy to wick and can leak if you don't fill them properly. A few months ago Angel Cigs had some clones on clearance for $5, so I picked up a couple. I didn't think anything could give me better flavor than my GS Airs, but these actually do. And the Aqua v4 is even better.

I'm getting old and my hands don't work like they did 20 years ago. Sometimes I get spaces between the wraps. A quick pulse and a gentle squeeze tidies them up. Strumming them works great for a dry burn to clean, but often separates the wraps a lil bit and I have to squeeze again after they are clean.

If the Aqua is better than the ErlK's I probably pass on them for another Aqua V2 instead, I hate fussy atties!

That's all good, I was just saying in case you didn't know.

The funny thing is, I wicked my Aqua really similar to how you have to wick an ErlK - thick at the shoulders and a wisp going down the juice channels. So I think once you get it, they're not so hard at all. But being top-filling, you do have to be careful to equalize the pressure after you fill them or you get juice out the air holes.

Thanks Linda, I'll ponder one the next time I am up on the Chinese sites, it's just so easy to click add to cart.

My coils always seem to be .1 or .2 off of what I was intending. I usually just vape them and enjoy the vape. A few days ago I was wrapping a coil for one of my Erlk's, got distracted, and put an extra wrap or two in it. It ended up being 2 ohms. I haven't vaped anything much over 1.5 in a long time. But I vaped it anyway and for some reason that coil gave me the best flavor. So I might just go ahead and wrap them higher from now on.

That's pretty much why now I use 7 wraps, which puts me around 1.7Ω, rather than 5-6 wraps, which gives a lower resistance, but nothing like as good a vape. I've also tried 8 wraps, but it begins to be just a trifle slow, at my usual 9 or so watts; I already take fairly long hits (3-5 secs), but I have to hit it far longer when it has so much metal in the coil. For my 3/32 coils, at my usual 9-ish watts, 7 wraps seems to be the precise sweet spot.

Yep. Nope and nope. I've been building those 2 tanks for almost a year now. Never off the 1.6 ohm mark by more than .2 ohms either direction. Usually only vary by <.05. I hit them with a DMM before I put the chimneys on. Then put them on the mod and it reads the same after fully assembled.
My coiling jig of preference for KF's is actually a q-tip stick with the cotton tips clipped off. It's just a hair over 2 mm, but still less than 2.5 mm. I have a coiling tool, but it seems to get in the way when I go to wrap the wires around the screws. And it's partly habit. I didn't have the tool when I first got the tank, so I just tend to do it the same way I always did.

The good news is that if you put them on a regulated mod it really doesn't matter.

Got my Zmax V3 and found that neither my Evod VV batteries nor my Itaste VV3's actually put out the voltage you set them at under load. Was running the Itaste as high as 5 votls on my T3's (modified). So I set the Zmax to 4 volts to start out and BURN!. Run it at 3.6 volts to get the same vape as I do at 5 volts on the Itaste.
It did not come with a manual and only has one button! Found a manual online that I printed out so all is good.

It is a heavy beast. Could womp someone with it?

If the Sig Zmax is heavy to you, don't get a Coolfire4. :D After using the CF4 for a while (my first one, when it was the only CF I had), one day while it charged, I used my Zmax, and it felt like I was using an Ego.

I know exactly what you mean! That's why I have a Rose, a Kayfun, a Taifun GT, and a Taifun GS I haven't even gotten around to trying yet. :D
