We let our kitty experience snow, in Feb 2014.... she took about 3 steps, lifting up her paws like "oh, ick!" then meowed and ran back into the garage!I don't think she was impressed.
The other day when it started sleeting, she'd been sitting in front of the sliding glass door... when all the ice pellets started making their usual racket, she ran and hid!

Some years ago I had an orange manx, by the name of "Yams" (he looked like a yam...no tail...orange). I lived in a ground floor apartment downtown; we rarely saw a snowflake. One winter though, we had quite the snowstorm; about 1 foot of the white stuff.
Each morning, after his breakfast, I'd open the window to let Yams out. He'd jump off the sill and head out to do his business. This particular morning, post-snowstorm, I opened the window and out Yams went. Unaware of the snow, he jumped out and completely disappeared with a muffled "puh" into the snow. No sooner had he disappeared into the white fluffiness, he righted himself and flew back into the apartment with eyes as big as snowglobes.
...."WHAT THE???!!!"
He was having none of it. The litter box saw increased action until the snow thawed.
Hope you are all safe and warm over the next few days. We are fixed on CNN, watching all the wintery weather and heaving a sigh that the West Coast of Canada only has to deal with rain.
Take good care all.
Lets see your cats do this!!!Mice in the house are bad enough, don't want no feelthy rats!

In Cambodia, Rats Are Being Trained To Sniff Out Land Mines And Save Lives
I have had several rats as pets over the years and contrary to popular belief they are very intelligent, clean animals.
Don't want to be stoned for this but they are actually much cleaner then cats.
Just a little fun fact.If you are allergic to cats and not dogs you are really allergic to proteins in the cat's saliva, urine, and dander (dried flakes of skin).
Apparently French toast is a common snowstorm comfort food, hence all the milk, eggs and bread!
There's no snow at ALL here, which is a shame, since I love snow so much. An hour south of here is looking at almost a foot; the city looks to be getting pounded.
I guess this is my penance for enjoying the last two brutal winters so much. I'd be outside shoveling for hours; 1am with the garage floodlights on, I'm bare-chested and it's -20F. Can't get enough of it. Which is why now there is none.My wife appreciates the dry winter though ( kept for the nosebleeds)
I've had many pets that eventually died, but I cried the most when my pet rat Caesar died.Lets see your cats do this!!!

Aww.I had Micky and Rosie.Good point I never kept male rats.Something about them dragging there nuts around didn't appeal to me.lolI've had many pets that eventually died, but I cried the most when my pet rat Caesar died.
Clean? Nope...he wasn't fixed, so he used to mark everything! But he was the cuddliest sweetest little thing ever!!

We've got a Vicks vaporizer, running almost 24/7, but she also likes to crank up the heat. Our bedroom is like a sauna!I finally got a cool-mist humidifier, and my nose says THANK YOU!!! every morning! Now we're thinking of getting about a half-dozen of 'em.I've been keeping a huge pot of water steaming on the stove, but if I keep doing that for the whole winter, I'll rust out my good 6qt dutch oven!

Trying to get my wife into vaping again; previous efforts were kind of half-arsed. This time I'm starting with a brand new EVOD (my wife loves blue) and 9mg nic @ 100% PG. She has some sort of sensitivity so I figure this will be the best way to determine what is acceptable.
Oh, and the red tank is mine. My EVODs are cracking and separating after 3+ years of near-constant use.
btw I got one of those curved handle snow shovels last winter. A darned good investment. Much easier on the back than the straight handle ones.
for 1.50 you can afford to throw the 1.8 in a jar for future rebuilding if you don't like it.Yup, I got them on the $1.50 sale. Had to go elsewhere for the matching battery, and the atomizers. To simplify things I'm going to see how well she does with the standard attys (everything there is 1.8Ω) before mucking things up with rebuilds.
