I went on vacation there when younger , not a good experience , got lost around Bourbon St and had a group of thugs hold guns to my head and chest , mugged for a measly $30.00 .
I lived in New Orleans...the French Quarter...for about 9 years (Chartres St, or "Rue Chartres") it was back in the late '70's and early '80's, so it probably wasn't as rough there as it might be now. I used to walk around there even at night, going to and from friends apts. and of course the ubiquitous bars, with little or no trouble. Sometimes was mistaken for a ...... if I dared stand on a corner to cross a street lol!! Darn tourists. But it was pretty cool back then.

I didn't know the stuff was a tank cracker,I found out the hard way.I agree if it'll melt plastic I don't want it in my lungs, the wintergreen is going in the trash! The plastic did buff out fairly well, not perfect but...I'm going to give it a go.If it tastes off I'll trash that as well and go to the metal center piece.

It's embarassing for me to say this but I'm a dinosaur .........I've never ordered anything over the interwebs before...I sure am behind the times eh.Most everyone I know does ... it just scares me.I have a feeling I'll do it soon though.I literally drool over the savings that can be had.The B&M shop around here sells a Quartz kayfun kit for 50 bucks and the one LJFinFLA linked to at fasttech for less than 5 bucks makes my head spin.

I discovered tank cracker juice the hard way as well.

I have made about 30 orders from fasttech in the last year with most of them in the last 4 months.

I would glue(silicon) them together so it won't easily pull apart. I use fish tank silicon.

Good idea, since, with a bit of effort, it's removeable if one breaks the glass. Don't have to toss the base and top. Probably 3 or 4 small dabs on each end would do the trick!

My niece just won a Harley in some Alabama charity event. What luck! Why didn't you go to the massacre?

OMG a Harley , that is mind boggling , congrats , i bet she doesn't ride right ? She will learn now but please make sure she wears a helmet even though some States like S.C don't require a helmet .

I use to race motorcycles and if you cherish your life wear the dang helmet , having a bad hair day is not a good excuse.

Well, I told my mother today, that I vape. I've kept both my smoking habit hidden for years, + that I vape.

My mother got really mad. I tried to explain it all to her. "You're still smoking", "why should I be happy you quit tobacco, you're still smoking", "we don't know the long term effects", "it's just as ridicoulos as cigarettes, tobacco and snus", "I was ridiculous that smoked", "stop praising e-cigarettes" etc. Yes she smoked, but is a really anti tobaccoist. She even came with threats.

Yes it's pretty scary! We grew up riding motorcycles. I never raced though. :)

Wow that's scary! I'm originally from New Orleans and have family still there so we always travel in groups. That's horrible what happened to you! It was more dangerous years back than it is now, but you still have to watch your back at night.

She sounds like my sister. She smoked 3 packs a day for 35 years and quit. Now she looks down at me for vaping. But, I really don't care what she thinks about that anyway. It's my life, my money and I like vaping. So there!

It actually got better after Katrina, but now the crime rate is back on the rise again. My relatives mostly live around the city, Kenner, Metairie, etc. I think we lived on West Esplanade when I was a wee tot.

I raced motocross not steet bike's , those Moto GP guys are completely insane , bikes side by side doing 210+ mph is the definition of insane imo lol.

Street bikes (touring types) are scary though , not only are a lot of those bikes extremely heavy, ( i have fallen over on my side at a stoplight, very embarrassing ) but no matter how safe you are it's the cars that are the cause of most fatalities.

The first thing your head hits when crashing is usually the pavement so a helmet is a no brainer imo.

I find the most challenging people to deal with in regards to vaping, are those who have never smoked. My partner being one of them. "You're still using nicotine", is all that is said.

I smoked for over 40 years and haven't had a cigarette for over 7 months which is unheard of for me.

I'm proud of that fact. Once I realized I wasn't going to get the pat on my back that I expected from my partner for that accomplishment, and that I did this for me and no one else, I pat my own back.

Some folks don't want to understand vaping no matter how much we/I might try to explain to them that it is much better than smoking cigarettes.

What can ya do? Shrug, and be proud of yourself.

Not suggesting you do this but a crack like that would put me in the best defence is a strong offense mode.
Thing is I will never hear anything like that from my "other half". My condolences.

I don't fan the flames. When someone says something derogatory about vaping, I just shrug & put them in ignore mode. When they don't get a response, they normally drop it.

I am the same. I vape........take it or leave it. Those people who know me, understand the incredible improvement in my health and happiness. When I talk about vaping, I always talk about switching from ciggies to vaping (not quitting smoking), I call my ecig a vaporiser or inhaler depending on who I am speaking to and lastly I don't engage in useless arguments around smoking or vaping. If people are interested I will tell them a bit about vaping and that's as far as I go.

It take energy I just don't have spare to argue.
