Add me to the list of those having wick issues, I went through all my wire trying to figure out what was causing it to fall apart and have such a bad taste. Finally, I tore just apart a R5 CE2 and grabbed the fat wick from in there, now my flavors taste right and I'm going on a little over a week on the same coil/wick and everything's fine. Looking forward to another alternative, but for the time being, this saved me from selling my iAtty.

That's what happened to me when I tried to do the "easy replace wick" method. I just gave it up and went back to wrapping the coil around the wick.

Only things in common are the wick on top, and the ohms (1.7 for both). 1.7 should be just fine on this, and previously I was using wick on top and it was working fine...

Looks like that was it, I managed to build a coil around a new wick (with the coil that was already in there... it's a wavy coil now). Huge TH (1.7ohm, somewhere around 25mg nic), but my throat is also a bit dry after all the failed attempts.

So, guess I just screwed up the wick on top method, three times.

P.S. I did try to do a coil around wick with the 116... how do you get it to fit in the ceramic?

What about the coil? I vape dark juices and my major complaint with that is that the coil and wick get gunked up after only a days vaping and need to be cleaned, IMHO, for best taste and performance.

I use some medium dark tobacco juices that are 100% VG and my coil after 7 days did not have much build up. I just dry burned it a bit and wiped it off with a cosmetic sponge and some Ever Clear. I have worked in surgery for quite some time and I will probably use a Weck-Cel sponge and Ever Clear in the future.

I get 1 to 1 1/2 days of chain vaping 1.3 - 1.6. Wick burns up by then. My fault for the way I vape, need to try the Nextel.

Same here, but I don't have access to any other wick. I'll try to double the wick either inside the coil or above and beneath the coil. If that doesn't work I'll try the wick from a CE2-R5.

Im back to trying xc-116, only I've made a change to it.

Using a standard length peice, I spun between my thumb and forefinger until it unraveled. I torched the strands and made a 36g 3ohm coil. Installed it n the ceramic cup. I twisted the long ends and they easily fit in to the grooves with out any xtra effort. I put a little juice on the whole wick and screwed on the cone. I trimmed the remaining wick just above the threaded base.

Using 2-3.2v batteries I gave it a try. Tthis is the best vape I have eexperienced to date. Clouds of refreshingly tasty vapor.
There was so much vapor I put in 2-3v tr15270 instead, with the same results.
I suspect unbranded wick of either fiberglass or the ceramic 116 is superior to the braided wick off the role.

I'm an allday chain vaper. with the Nextel I am getting about 6 days before I need to clean the wick. Then it is perfect again.

I vape dark juices. 6.4V at 3.5 ohms :)
either 100% VG, or 60VG 40PG
