    Thank you. I hope so.

At least, I'll finally have one! I've been putting it off forever because I couldn't decide. This may not be the best. But, it's finally done!

Next paycheck, I'll go ahead and get a case/cover for it and a memory card. I guess the biggest one?
If you read the Comments or reviews on the Amazon page where you bought it, it discusses sd card usage. Good info.

Well we are worse then some in Air Quality. This afternoon we were at 293 (Unhealthy) Well we finally hit the top of the scale to 327 (Hazardous) thats as high as the scale goes. 300 is the cutoff point for Hazardous here is a pic.
    FJ19ChTB4tgms_fpHARK6Ksn-wDVzlunRiyN9jPibip_HxrdmmrXhBjU-hgnx2yJWiRuTanK07Cbh9FpoqLCg_7JMK_AkVnOjP6n4qsIAVM3uOtNHyjjDwaRIkffrQXqixcWXWsIjts7iq_lnfNU0LSryLEcTGlDu681e_2VtblLngnrZpfeD5Z9ahj4PN3uh6PbLZY-XpU_ncl8hAYssS8qJnhSgu9ivJVx2Qtgk2U4ACfFxsXPl6GoI7gJ0AJPXeEmrV_CK4csPDRs26L0M9AlCtU-6TSofV5Pdzt2mQ0wrRKAJ_zjsg4KbYF4oufRXAxVRAclWf7mSVYqhaEUDkkA0dtKOR8YV7XWeaz5CIU8h3j6H4IU1jRMPEgVvXs6S6HF4HKNNQ27yVHxrTTCGwQVc8DjeQKUkA0zy4twNrRaKm812bCtr5VL2zPzbCm38G4U2k5yEOstJM0w8MPGM6PFjeEwBtGY-pJ1nnaNvi-jiodrGNqsebkAKU50ZwDr0L2DVJJXnWiPyhTTlyMKt-lo8LjW9k1NhvPf4Y_N6OZkaR1dduyDFjWzF2dt7U7aSGlPG89fR0tYBVy5n820gkOMUqyBwUPMjU_jXMou=w601-h801-no

They are warning everyone to stay inside with doors and windows closed.

Not much better over this side, Pat. "Hazardous" today and tomorrow, winds from the north today (the least the Canadians could do would be to toss some of their bacon it, at least it would smell better :) ), then shifting to bring us YOUR smoke...

    Hmmmmm.

". . . . . thinking that I would be able to store the majority of my apps and books on my 128gb memory card. I was mistaken. The Kindle allows you to load Kindle books, Netflix, and a handful of games onto the memory card.

EVERYTHING ELSE gets stored on the main memory of the device because it is not "memory card compatible." I have many books bought from sources other than Kindle that I CANNOT load onto the memory card. There are also plenty of apps (Hulu, Starz, etc) that I can't migrate to the memory card either."

I see what you mean. At least I bought the 32 gb version. I may just wait to see if there's any point in an SD card, especially a big expensive one.

I had in mind mostly free books. I really don't like the idea of paying to rent books. I want to own them if I pay for them.

The EPA said that we have the worst air quality in the nation today we are at 365. Not very good and I need to go to town today.

Oh no. If you really must go make sure you have your AC on and inside circulation, not air from the outside and get back home asap.

Well @DavidOck The wind came up this afternoon and it's blowing it your way. @Iffy Thats a heck of a deal on those Dots. If I didn't already have 3 I'd jump right on that. Air is much better now not great but not in the hazardous range. I think it is still unhealthful but an improvement.

It's pretty funny that for the 10" version of Amazon Fire tablet, the price is $100 with special offers, $115 without special offers. I'm reminded of the contest where 1st prize is week in Philadelphia, and 2nd prize is two weeks in Philadelphia.

EVERYTHING ELSE gets stored on the main memory of the device because it is not "memory card compatible."
Maybe someone who uses a Samsung Galaxy tablet can fill us in regarding whether it is less limited than the Amazon Fire in what the removable storage is permitted to do. I saw refurb 8" Galaxy tablets on Amazon for as little as $92. If you decide to return your tablet, I hope you're able to get your printer working to print the return label. :thumb:

What were they thinking when they came up with this brand name? Didn't they realize how well the name lends itself to creative pronunciation?

I hadn't made pancakes since the 1970s. Back then, I never found a "just add water" mix that was any good. Well, I bought some of this Krusteaz pancake mix from Costco, and I just now made and ate a batch. They were surprisingly excellent. I don't know if my standards have slipped or if they're actually as good as they tasted. All I know is they were 3 times as good as the microwave pancakes I've bought for years at the grocery.

Not so surprising once you realize that "special offers" means "permission to bombard you with ads". You are offering to let them give access to you for $15; a poor bargain if you ask me.

Shame that you missed that book sharing thread a few yrs back. Folks shared their entire libraries with each other. I think the links are dead now but you might pm one of the participants.
My wife and I just use the state wide library.

Yeah, some, uh, interesting views on the radar maps, last night's weather. Most of the time, smoke from the east stays your side of the Cascades. Not this time. And no changed for today, other than worse. Supposed to have a change of wind direction tomorrow, clearing us out. Some.

    And Labatts

Now, that's one thing I've never tried, smoked beer. I think I'll pass :)

I didn't notice about the "special offers" until after I bought it. But, I think the ads are just on the original screensaver type page, right? I'm not going to be bombarded by ads, right? I hope not. That would destroy the whole experience!

God, I miss my books! Almost all of them are packed away at my brother's house. I'll still need physical books. I have read some books on my computer, and it's just not the same. There will always be a place for physical books in my life. Whether my collection or library books. I need to touch them and hold them and . . . .
