and for other news...

The DH goes in for his triple bypass on Wed., Nov. 21st. The doc is leaving today for a conference in Milan so that was the first available date to have him do the surgery. He gave us the option of having another surgeon on staff do it if we wanted it done sooner. The doc said because his condition is stable, and as long as he behaves (ha!), we can wait.

In the meantime, we've requested the autopsy report from the coroner's office for his sister who died in 1992 when her aneurysm split to find out what size it was. If it was smallish, like his is, they'll fix it while they're in there. If it was large and just un-diagnosed at the time, they probably won't touch it. If it's somewhere in the middle, they may do it or not. UGH. Hopefully, we'll get the report in the next few weeks (it's in the archives somewhere). Having time to get this info is a good reason to delay the surgery, but I wish it had been suggested or we thought to do it sooner.
Wow, a triple. It's a good sign that the Dr is ok with the wait, tho. The autopsy report is a great idea, too. Prayers going up!

Man I didn't believe how tired I was. Been sleeping all morning. I'm glad she is tired too said again not to come up she is in too much pain. They had just given her some morphine so probably sleeping again. The nurse said they are trying to leave her alone as much as possible to let her sleep.
It's very painful.

I didn't go to visit Ginny today. I know she is awake and she is going to call me back. I know she is and going to call me back. Will be there in the morning she was was in a lot of pain and sleeping alot and told me not to come today. I know she is in a lot of pain and has been sleeping most of the day> I had the nurse go and check if she was a wake and she was but they may be doing something cause she is going to call me back. I guess something is up. I feel so sorry for her. Shes on a liquid diet and asked them if they want her to sheet she needs some real food. I did my taxes today and I feel like I made a mistake cause it said I owe 0. Probably going to worry me all night, I did it twice and came out the same so maybe. I hate being audited.
A liquid diet is gentle on the intestenal tract. Less irritation to slow already slow healing for her.

Phil and Mrs. Semi had minimal damage; mainly Ma Nature 'pruning' and 3" of rain. He estimated 50 MPH gusts. They did lose power for two days. A neighbor ran an extension cord from a generator to their fridge.

Semi did say that there was some extensive damage 15-20 miles away, both east and west of them.

They are currently preparing for their Philippine 'mission' in mid-November.
Great news! I'm glad they had a good neighbor to step up, too.

Does she have Diverticulitis? Just glad you finally got her there. She's not in any conition to have a normal reaction to things she might usually be able to handle. Don't forget the nurse around the corner!

No she has not sure about spelling iteritis enflamed bowel. These damed rules on Opioids she told them what she is on at home and no they had to try other stuff first. She was in so much pain. I had to do my taxes, all this goiing on I almost forgot. I just hope I did it right it came up that I owed 0. I filed it and will hope for the best. If they come up with something else I'm sure they will let me know.

They are now giving her what she is used to just not the quantity she has been on for well over a year, I had to get her DL# and issue and expiration date and that was a chore for her and me. But she got her purse and took one of her pills. I know she shouldn't be doing that but they are giving her 10mg and she normally takes 30mg, so I guess all she did was take the 20 more that she has been on. I feel like I'm working myself into a heart attack. I am so worried about her and I can't get up there and see her because the parking lot is always full and everyone seems to have HC parking permits. I just can't walk the 2 blocks to get to the door. Then I'm worried about the tax being right, got so much on my mind I'm just reeling in my pee brain. I redid my tax 3 times and always came out with the same thing I owe 0. God I hope it is right,

I've got to find a way to get in there although she doesn't want me too. People have sent flowers for her she can't have them in her room. I have a hard time wearing a face mask cause it's like I get claustrophobia, I get short of breath and start really freaking out. I don't understand it. I never used to be like this. They said what she has is not life threatening but it's a lot of pain. It took 2 days to start using the meds that she is used to but they are only giving her not even 1/2 the amount that she is used to. She has had to explain why we don't absorb meds like normal people. They let her order some real food sort of, she had a banana, a bowl of soup. She finally had a bowel movement, she didn't have the bacteria they were afraid she had. Her cancer doc stopped by last night and told her she can no longer have chemo but said they have a lot of other things they can try. I don't know what I'm going to do. She wants to come home but has to get a handle on what ever is going on.

Thanks for the link. I read the article and it sounds very encouraging. Still it must be so devastating to hear that you have cancer. Please keep us posted.
Yes, I am grateful that the prognosis is so good. They were wondering why I am so calm. Then I told them that I have been vaping ceebeedee. It is really helping me keep my sanity. It may be a lifesaver for those who have to get off the nic quick.

I hate to admit it, but I may be a bit lazy and prone to procrastinate. I have had a slow leak in an outside faucet for quite a while. I had decided that it would need to be replaced before winter set in this year. I bought a pack of misc washers a couple weeks ago with the intent that I would work on it while the weather was nice. Today was the day I decided to fix it. The wind has picked up coming out of the North and the temp is falling. Well, I got it replaced. It actually took longer to turn off the water and turn it back on than it took to replace the little washer. The leak is fixed. I no longer have to worry about it freezing this winter.

Well Ginny is feeling better but there are no plans of discharging her right away. Her WBC is still really low and her elctrolytes are really messed up. I was hoping she would get out tomorrow but I guess not. She wants out but they said no way. This is not something that was needed at all. So I am thinking of going up tonight. If I take my walker I should be able to make it. Maybe I would even be able to get a HC spot. This really sucks. I wish we would have gone to the other hospital, they have valet parking and it would be no problem. They have a real parking problem if you are unable to walk very far. She is eating at least now. They finally got her meds nearly to what she takes at home so that helps. She ate a banana this morning and it just about killed her from the pain. So she is going to try to eat dinner and hopefully it won't be too much pain. She's hungry but it hurts for her to eat. Don't know how long she is going to be there.

Is there Uber or something like it over there Pat?
Yeah they are but I'm just going to go in the morning and take my walker, then I can stop and rest if need be. Or just might wait for someone to leave. Like they do at Costco.

Or I could park on the other side of the hospital always a spot there but it's about a block and a half from one side to the other where the elevators are to the patient rooms but it's all level at least. I knew we should've gone to Sacred Heart. It is gigantic but the have valet parking cheap. Next time I'm sure there will be more visits.

Dang they sure make hospitals big now days. This is the small one The other one is really huge. You need a golf cart to get around. I guess I was in the wrong business. Anyone ever had claustrofobia from a surgical mask. I sure seem to get it bad. Never used to be like that. You have to wear a mask visiting Ginny. I hope she gets out soon.

This is kind of a morbid thing but she wants to ask the oncologist how this affects her life expectancy. He said 9-12 months before which is really hard to believe because she doesn't feel that bad except for this happening. They need to get her WBC up and her electrolytes more balances. Don't know how long that is going to take. They are giving her shots in her stomach to try and jump start whatever makes WBC. I hope I can sleep good tonight. I hope she can also. Her WBC is at .7 up from .3 but they want her to get to 1 so .3 to go.

I totally agree. They'd drop you right at the door! It's not expensive. Besides, you don't want to aggravate that sore on your stump from doing too much walking. Try it, you might like it!!

Do you use an Android smart phone? If so, these wi-fi-connectible mini outlets are great, easy to use, and priced right.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B072ZX8RTZ/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I have mine connected to my Amazon Echo Dots, but you don't need any Alexa device or Google Assistant device to use them. All you need is an Android smart phone or tablet. The advantage of having them connected to both my smart phone and my Echo Dots is that I can turn each socket on or off with a voice command OR with the smart phone screen.

You can get a set of 4 for $34. I have four of them on the job: my Dish TV Hopper (DVD receiver), my Dish TV Joey (second receiver), a desk lamp and my vape battery charger. Creatively, I have named these 4 plugs "Hopper", "Joey", "desk lamp" and "charger". All I have to do is say "Alexa, turn on desk lamp" or "Alexa, turn off charger" and I'm saved the trouble of finding the switch or physically connecting or disconnecting a power cord.

At first, I thought it would be a great idea to use one for my modem power supply, for those occasions when my modem needs an unplug and replug. Not such a hot idea... the modem turns off just fine, but the mini outlet needs to connect to the internet to turn the modem back on, which it can't do when the modem is off... duh.

A doobie is a widget for a person's pocket. On 5th and 6th Sundays in February they morph into roundtoits and are worn as a decoration on the other side of a jacket or sweater. K?

You 've obviously been into the doobies....:D
