I've only had two cups of coffee in my 75 years. One (partial) when I was in my teens (which told me that I didn't like it); one when I was a young adult, when someone convinced me, at the height of a megadose (≈600 µg) of (the trippy stuff), that I needed a cup (which convinced me that I really didn't like coffee).

I've always wished I did like coffee because it is frequently the only beverage available. I loathe the smell of it, but I have prepared coffee for my wife (set up the coffee machine the night before) for the past 35 years. (She does a lot more than that for me.)

I don't think I started drinking coffee regularly 'till I started working after college. Around the office it just seemed part of the culture, grab a cup of coffee, head to the meeting room, then sitting around talking drinking coffee and smoking cigarettes. Looking back I feel sorry for the non-smokers back then. Seems I recall the majority of folks were smokers and those meeting rooms quickly filled up with smoke.

A babysitter gave me black coffee once. I didn't try coffee again for about 3 decades. I discovered it's pretty good with flavored creamer and a little sweetener.

Oh my goodness. The smell of coffee anytime makes my mouth water! It's funny how different peoples tastes are. So, what do you drink when you wake up in the morning?

My Grandmother used to give me "coffee-milk" when we got up in the mornings. She put my milk in a coffee cup, added enough coffee to give it a little color, added a bit of sugar, h a soon for stirring. We had our coffee together every morning when I stayed with them. I did the same for all of our kids as they came along. And we all remember it well over 30 years later.

So did my "Grams"
It is a precious memory of mine. I asked the kids once, while we were all together at a family gathering, if any of the remembered & they all did. My sisters remember me doing it for me them, too. That's as whole 8 people.

Good morning everyone. I don't have any talents artistic or otherwise, but do have lots of interest in different things. Cooking, gardening and reading among them. I greatly appreciate the talents of other people.

Has anyone seen the Forged in Fire show? It's amazing. People make knives out of different metals from cars, ball bearings, golf clubs etc. Then the 2 best contestants make an historic sword back at their home forges and they're tested for strength and sharpness. It's fascinating.

Nothing, actually. I need to use a prescription, high-fluoride toothpaste which requires no rinsing/no-eating or drinking for at least one hour. I tend to wake between 5 and 6, do my morning ablutions, sit down at my computer to delete my overnight emails (and check my forums). I have to set an alarm on my iPhone to remind me to quit and have breakfast. About the only thing I drink at all is water, Coke™ (I try to limit myself to about a half liter/ 17 oz per day*), and wine in the evenings (where I also try to limit myself).

==================
*When I was many years younger, I used to drink 10 Cokes a day, which is why I need a serious prescription toothpaste as an old man. Thanks to a good friend and dentist who got me on track with dental care, I still have most of my own teeth, although they are all either filled, crowned, or capped. (Missing two molars and all four wisdom teeth, and one implant replacing an incisor.) Here's me getting an early start on a bad habit:

    Wow, 10 cokes! My kids laugh @ me because it takes me so long to finish a 16oz, it goes flat with about a quarter left, lol. 3+ wks usually. I never developed a sweet tooth. Probably why I prefer unflavored vape.

    Absolutely! Been a FinF fan since I first saw it. It's a permanent scheduled show on my DVR.

    Gives one some idea of how much our forefathers relied upon da local 'smith. It's amazing what can be crafted; be it a tool, weapon or art!
