Yes, Its better to keep the peace with any public establisment, they always retain the right to service no matter what, so being difficult wont get you anywhere. But you can always ask in advance if its allowed, great, if not, find a place it is, its their loss of revenue. We dont have to hide it, just be polite and ask first!

I am a GUY from L.A. not girl. lol
I am so tired of the "Don't let teacher see" mentality. It is so juvinile to assume that we are somehow hurting the cause by vaping openly. I usually ask when in a restaurant, and I have never been told I couldn't. If the manager of the establishment doesn't mind, why the Fff should I hide my habit?!?

I'm with you LowThudd, as a smoker I was slowly pushed further and further away from comfort because of the second hand smoke, now their is no poison emitted from my habit and I refuse to be subjected to the poisons I'm escaping now that I vape. I've had more people ask me about my e cig and I'm spreading the word and establishing my place again.

A revolution over being able to vape wherever you want...

No sir, a revolution over being told what we can say, what we can do, what we can't do, when and where we can do it.

That's sane

That's what they said slightly before they found tea floating in the river.

only read first page, so this may be off topic...but:

i vape in restaurants all the time, but i ask first. i find that if the place is full then i will usually be told no, but if it is fairly empty then the waiter will say yes and even defend me from the manager. its all a matter of etiquette, if people think you are doing it to be a .... then they will get upset, but if you are polite about it then all is good and it helps to get e-cigs recognized as harmless to others.

also it helps that i purposely buy black batts and attys so it looks as little like a analog as possible.

Did u cover urself with The mask like ur avatar? i think this will work. ---Just kidding

Well i think Stealth vape is just a secret thing, it look like u doing something bad. it feel like u are into taking drug.

Every bar and resturant that I have visited say no to vaping, so I don't ask; stealth vape is now the only way.
I vape everywhere now with no hassel.

In this regard, I find that it's better to ask forgiveness than ask permission. I assume vaping is okay, and I go ahead and do so. Usually, no one bothers me, but if there is an objection, I put it away.

This is generally the approach that I take. I don't hide, but I don't blow clouds either ... clouds are reserved for the places that I have received explicit permission. :p

Ya know, I think that somehow they need to figure out how to change the color of the vapor we are producing. Make it a specific color across all e-juices and people would know instantly that its not smoke by the color it is producing. I don't know if it could be done, but by golly that would easily take care of the question of if it is smoke or vapor.

The vaporized form of the liquid substance that we inhale is actually colorless but due to the density and gathering like cloud, it appeared to be white. but if we are to inhale with different Color, i can't really imagine that. i hope that it stay this way otherwise it will be no different from analog.
erm analog is abit more grey when exhale and it actually brown when u inhale. i believe most of them notice it on the Analog filter. correct me if i am wrong.

There are two sides to this. What if vaping got banned because people got used to it being a non-public practice ?
Some people like to express themselves and their right to vape in public, negative reactions or not. Those bullies who hate smokers/vapers won't change their opinion just because you were nice enough to keep out of their way. I respect this attitiude. But chance has it I don't have this trait, opting instead to avoid conflict. I mean all I want is a peaceful vape. 'But' I do smoke more and more in non-smoking areas now, especially at work, ...... it, there 'are no' smoking places in the building. It used to be the obvious hidden corners, but the places I choose now are more and more open. It can be done, it just takes practice. I'm even trying to find ways to disguise the e-cig as a ball point pen. You'd be surprise, people have no idea, even if they see a whisp of vape floating on the ceiling. The last thing on their mind is someone crazy enough to light up at work.

I work in Radiology at a fairly large hospital. I got permission from my boss to vape at work as long as I do not do it in front of patients. I have also converted the other two smokers in my department, and a few from other departments in the hospital. If I would have kept it hidden then I would still have to go out to "smoke" and my co-workers would still be smoking analogs. Of course I am respectful when I vape and try to keep it to a minimum of sorts. So ask first. If they say no, then don't do it, or stealth vape. ALL of my non-smoking co-workers have been VERY supportive! They love the fact that I'm not taking smoke breaks anymore and that I don't have the stench of analogs on me.

I've always tried to be respectful when smoking analogs in public or around non-smokers. I think that the same should apply for my ecig. I think that the more an ecig looks like an analog; the more trouble a vaper will have in public. I agree that if we only vape "in the closet"; it will never be accepted. But; there are some things in this world that would never make a non-smoking, non-vaping pc society happy. I love the idea of colored vape; but once again; the powers that be could probably find something to complain about with "health claims" attached. Just sayin . . .

I understand, really, and I know that being obnoxious will only hurt the cause, BUT, I was a polite smoker and it never prevented nasty puritans from seeking me out just to berate me for being a smoker. I'm going to have to work really hard at overcoming the urge to vape in someone's face...but I will overcome it, even if it means muttering under my breath and taking Xanax.

I am torn by this. On one hand, I really resent the anti-smoking fascism that has erupted here in Minnesota. Banning smoking in adult places (bars, nightclubs) in order to "protect our children from smoking" is laughable. I hate being preached to. I loathe being made to go outdoors in cold weather to use a legal product which generates billions of dollars in tax revenue for my city, my state and my country. All that being said... I agree with the original poster here. We're not going to convince any rabid anti-smoker that what we do is any better. Americans are curiously idiotic sometimes: Even in the face of facts, we doggedly hang onto our political opinions. You won't be able to educate anyone in a brief exchange. Here's another thing: I do not ever vape around children. Period. This is an absolute; the kids don't need yet another bad example in a world where they're exposed to Katie Perry, violent rap lyrics, Jerry Springer-type sensationalism, shcollyard bullies and drug dealers.
