Right now I am vaping with de-braided XcC-116 in a modified(enlarged channels) ceramic and even de-braided I removed some of the strands. I'm still testing it so I can only say so far so good.

This set up is working really well and to de-braid the XC-116 was PITA, but I normally use a different method of connecting the ground wire but this time I put it under the locking ring but this causes the ring to not sit flat which causes the mouth piece to not sit flat so I have been able to vape it quite hard for the last hour without ever opening the mouth piece. This is because the mouth piece and locking ring leak enough to keep the wick wet, it has nothing to do with the Nextel. I will add a link to the alternate grounding method here in a moment as soon as I locate it.

OK now that I've done the work around on the negative connection I will try to explain it. I don't know if any of you have seen the review of the Nautilus by Navy Lifeguard before he removed it. It was in German so I don't know if he said anything about this or not but he did it.
On the negative BEFORE the bottom of the wick channel he coiled the NR wire around the wick so it would make contact with the base when the ceramic housing is screwed in. Just be careful that you don't let it go past the bottom of the ceramic housing or it may short on the (positive) air tube.
I just did this and it works perfectly, even though I primed the new wick I had to unscrew the mouth piece right after one hit.
This method works well, after all the liquid control is what sets it apart from other atomizers. With this method the liquid control works as it should.
Update: Two and a half hours later I'm still vaping it with the mouth piece closed, I attribute this not to the Nextel specifically but to the fact that the wick that is in the channels is wicking so well because the fibers are straight not twisted.
I really would term this more seepage than a leak as it vapes well and nothing is going into the 510 connector of the mod.

I ordered this same wick from the same guy about 4 months ago and I find it far superior to anything else so far. It is IMHO better than Imeo and silicawicks.com wick and the only thing I have found that even remotely keeps up with it is cheese cloth or cotton botton. Indeed it is harder to work with and is more time consumeing, just use a small paper clip when wraping your coils and dont remove the clip until you have it all the way mounted in the ceramic cup! Then make sure your NR leads are in the channel which will require a little twisting of the wick in the same direction it came in originally and it will fit like a glove. Just remember to be patient and take your time because its not a race! You can also put a folded over piece over the top of the wick that goes down the channels and wrap your coils like normal and before yoe screw the neg. grounding nut down trim of the extra pieces, it will store more juice on your coils so you dont get dry hits. I havent had any dry hits at all until my tank is empty and need a refill. Hope that helps you guys

OK here is the Ody V2 ceramic (for whatever thats worth). Left is COV 3mm, center is 1/16 XS, right is alleged XS 1/16 (cant confirm).

right is XC right? damn I should have ordered the XS. I used the wick that came with my term and I really like this thing, might give up on my gennys since I can never seem to get them working right.
anavidfan will confirm what the product on the right is. It was sold as 1/8... I also have a 50' roll of the exact same thing I got from feebay and it was also sold as 1/8. All I can confirm is what I ordered and received and thats already stated

Was just checking, you said both the middle and right where XS 1/16th in your post. Want to make sure I buy the right thing this time.
Yeap, the one on the right is the XC-116, and its thick, too thick to use in Term ceramic, Ody 1 and 2. I saw the choices of the Omegas and didnt know that the XS was the one. As soon as I can I will order that Omega XS 116. It actually seems to be less "fray prone" I had to tape the ends of what I had to keep it from fraying like the proverbial " yarn" on a sweater.
But honestly if you are not running real hot set up you really dont needthe the Omega. Its definatlely going to last longer and its nice to try it out, but the COV is good, as well as the silicawicks one. But I really do like the one I linked at Ebay by an ECF member. I get the 3.5mm , I torch the hell out of it, no off taste and no need to trim any threads to make it fit in the channels as is. Its heat resistance is just about as high as the Omega Nextel.

Hey I just picked up some 100% cotton yarn. Boiled it, dried it. Vaped it. I'm surprised it vapes really well. I've been vaping for a few hours and just checked the wick for burns and there are none. But honestly, vaping with this ody clone is making me consider going after the real thing.
Well I rewicked mine with the 4x strands from a 2.4 vivi nova head and yeah. It works but gets really harsh and taste dry/burnt even know I can see its soaked with juice.
I guess I need to get new wick before I make an honest opinon about this.

I have some store credit there so maybe I'll pick one up and see.. I don't have a SVC Term to compare too but will have the coop trial at the end of Jan hopefully to do a compare
With the polished version they state that it holds more liquid and has a shorter mouth piece, the knurled part must be machined smaller because they look to be the same size tanks
