Right now I am vaping with de-braided XcC-116 in a modified(enlarged channels) ceramic and even de-braided I removed some of the strands. I'm still testing it so I can only say so far so good.
This set up is working really well and to de-braid the XC-116 was PITA, but I normally use a different method of connecting the ground wire but this time I put it under the locking ring but this causes the ring to not sit flat which causes the mouth piece to not sit flat so I have been able to vape it quite hard for the last hour without ever opening the mouth piece. This is because the mouth piece and locking ring leak enough to keep the wick wet, it has nothing to do with the Nextel. I will add a link to the alternate grounding method here in a moment as soon as I locate it.Right now I am vaping with de-braided XcC-116 in a modified(enlarged channels) ceramic and even de-braided I removed some of the strands. I have problems with the Nextel on the V2 ody ceramic, It fits if I really work it in, but too tight, it slows the wicking. It does work well when you use the Nextel on the top piece, like a little bow-tie. Unfortunately with the V2 ceramic/ ceramic housing is that one side is stainless steel so I would have to drill out the stainless steel to make it deeper or wider so that the ring screws in well.
There is a guy on ebay that sells a high temp wick that does work well, he doesnt state that it is Nextel but from the temp description it has all the characteristics.
Silica Rope 3 mm Silica Wick High Quality Temperature Resistance 1000°C | eBay
I wash it in my usual manner which is 30 mins in distilled water, throw dirty water away and boil again for another 30 mins. Then I torch it before use. I do this with all my silica to avoid any "off" taste from any coatings
I still prefer the silica from silicawicks.com. Its firmer and doesnt fray as much. THe above comes unwrapped easier, but its not like low quality wick that tends to not only fray, but it almost disintegrates and you get fibers flying all over and actually stings your fingers when in contact.
Well there is a huge diff between XC and XS. Mine would fit in there nicely. Your right that wont wick if you smash it in there. However I dont like the open channel style. Thats just mu opinion. Do a search for the "Mr Krinkle method" an ECF search I mean. He begs to differ w me, and hes got a lot more mileage than me.
Pics coming atcha tomorrow. Im crashing.
I dont have a Term. I am getting setup right now to take some pics so you can see what I got...so the XS 1/16th will fit without drilling the cup?
OK here is the Ody V2 ceramic (for whatever thats worth). Left is COV 3mm, center is 1/16 XS, right is alleged XS 1/16 (cant confirm).
So you see the 1/16 of mine would fit nicely in ur ceramic.

right is XC right? damn I should have ordered the XS. I used the wick that came with my term and I really like this thing, might give up on my gennys since I can never seem to get them working right.
anavidfan will confirm what the product on the right is. It was sold as 1/8... I also have a 50' roll of the exact same thing I got from feebay and it was also sold as 1/8. All I can confirm is what I ordered and received and thats already stated
You just hit me up when ur ready to move ur gennys...
But I really do like the one I linked at Ebay by an ECF member. I get the 3.5mm , I torch the hell out of it, no off taste and no need to trim any threads to make it fit in the channels as is. Its heat resistance is just about as high as the Omega Nextel.
I guess I'll be ordering some soonI checked the ebay shop, and no wonder it works so well in both, its 3mm. Nice and fluffy, not flaky and very absorbent.
With the polished version they state that it holds more liquid and has a shorter mouth piece, the knurled part must be machined smaller because they look to be the same size tanksOKC Vapes now has the the Nautilis .. Wonder if it's the same as SVC?
