Well, here I sit vaping some JC at 3.7 volts in my Prodigy using a protected 18650 battery that I've been using since yesterday afternoon. This has turned out to be my "sweet spot." I simply did not like vaping the juices I prefer at 5 volts, and 3.7 volts has done wonders for atty life, too.
Steve, do what you need to do to survive. I thought that the Prodigy was a bit expensive when I bought it, but it's still on top of all the other mods I see out there, IMHO, by the sheer elegance (and low parts count) of its design. The Prodigy was worth it by itself, not to mention the support that I've gotten from you and Casey.
I don't need a Protege. The Prodigy is sufficient for me, but I did wonder a little how you were going to sell the Protege for less than $100 when the design is so similar to the Prodigy. I thought you might get some savings from using parts from the pass-through, but if your number-crunching reveals that same expense applies to the Protege as well as the pass-through, so be it.
I don't think that $115 for the Protege as a full kit is bad at all, and I still may be ordering a pass-through at $69.99.
Now that fellow in Greece is re-manufacturing attys. I can't wait to see how that turns out.
