I know someone mentioned it, but I just wanted to make it very clear: when people say that nicotine is not terribly or at all addictive, they're NOT talking about those who smoke or have EVER smoked -- they're talking about a) nicotine IN ISOLATION -- no other drugs or compounds WITH the nicotine, for b) people WHO HAVE NEVER SMOKED, or used tobacco in any fashion.
Those who have ever used tobacco at all, and particularly those who have smoked cigarettes, are addicted not just to the nicotine, but to nicotine WITH all those other compounds, either naturally-occurring (MAOIs and minor alkaloids) and those which BT adds, such as ammonia, which make the cigarettes more "efficient" -- more addictive, which makes them for more efficient FOR BT!
